COVID Prevention

As a school that runs under the Ministry of Education, Harvard Junior School stands guided by the said Ministry as regards to the welfare of the students and the staff. As such guidelines have been given by the Ministry of Health and Child Care to help mitigate the spread and transmission of COVID-19.

Below is a visual representation of the updates we have made as a school to our existing infrastructure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 when schools finally open.

Covid Preventive Measures

As a school we have managed to institute changes in line with the preventive measures to safeguard both students and teachers. These include masks, thermometers and sanitizing chemicals (for hand washes and sanitizers and foot baths) as recommended preventive best practices. We also follow their safe use guidelines for the prevention of the transmission of the virus.

Social Distancing Sensitive Classroom Layouts

In line with social distancing protocols our classroom layouts could not remain untouched. As a result we have made adjustments to the class sitting layouts to accommodate this requirement for their safety of our students and staff. We have also instituted this preventive measure to common spaces were our students and the staff would sit such as the dining facilities.

Washroom Facilities

As a school we have over time insisted on the thorough cleaning of our common facilities like washing up facilities. In light of this novel pandemic we still insist on the same standards for the sake of all our stakeholders.

Auxiliary Updates

In addition to teaching and ensuring good hygiene we have taken the liberty to ensuring that water is readily available. This we hope will cement good hygiene in our students as the practice is encouraged by the constant availability of water. Also common areas have been catered for by the availability of hot meals at the school during the terms.
